You suggested using the most vetoed maps, but if people want to learn new maps, they will be vetoing the ones they already know. Since this new format would be unranked, I think that would happen more often than people just trying to play the maps they already know.

It's just frustrating to me that Valve insists on removing maps ENTIRELY from the game, like SURE remove them from the competitive pool absolutely, but there is no good reason to remove them from the files & from casual mode

I think there is a reason valve has not added a unranked competitive mode if there is no ranks then we can't determine the skill level so you would just get matched with people of much different skill level kind of like back in the day of cs 1.6 and source you could go into a server and there could be people on your team that are really bad some decent a great player ect so a unranked comp mode you would get matched against people that are global when your only gold Nova 1 see the issue with this is you could end up against people that are much better than you or are much worse and if they try to add a kind of side ranking system like wingman then that defeats the purpose and if they made it were it didn't penilize you for leaving but kept the side ranking system then you would have people leaving all the time and end up with bots most of the time I feel this is why valve has not added a 5vs5 unranked competitive mode or valve is just lazy

I disagree with you on your Q idea, while I do think it would solve a lot of problems, I like joining my favorite maps, chosing them specifically, yes it would give valve more data, but I think having the choice to play whatever map I want immediately is pretty dope.

Zoo will most likely gets removed in future. Nice map, but not fit for competitive playing(in my opinion). Abbey could succeed as competitive map if author use other T skins than office guys with big bag and white shirts that can be easily seen from any distance.

I don't think people would agree to not be able to choose what map they are going to play. I'm from TF2 and they tried to do this, and everyone disliked it so bad they had to go back on their decision.

Cobblestone is one of the only maps I actually like lol. I'm so over Cache Mirage and Dust 2 that the only way to have fun for me is to play Nuke, Cobble, or hell even Office at this point.
